Award-Winning Innovation: SeaStorm Recognized for “Sustainable Boat Manufacturing”

We are incredibly proud to announce that SeaStorm has been honored with the Award for Nautical Innovation in the Manufacturing of Sustainable Boats (Premio a la Innovación Náutica en la Fabricación de Embarcaciones Sostenibles).

In a recent feature article, SeaStorm CEO Aljona Ystmark accepted the award (pictured above with Carmen Sánchez and Andrés Navarro) and shared the vision behind the brand’s rapid success.

From Kayaks to Powerboats: A Legacy of Durability

Born from the founders of SeaBird Designs—a European leader in kayak manufacturing founded in 2006 by Len Ystmark—SeaStorm has leveraged nearly two decades of Nordic nautical experience.

By applying the same principles that made their kayaks legendary, SeaStorm has expanded into the powerboat sector with a clear mission: to create boats that are resistant, sustainable, and beautifully designed.

Why SeaStorm Won: Functional & Sustainable Design

The judges and the market are recognizing SeaStorm for distinguishing itself from traditional manufacturers.

“Our boats combine Scandinavian design with efficient European production,” explains Aljona Ystmark.

Key factors contributing to this recognition include:

  • The Material Advantage: Using rotationally molded High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) allows for seamless, one-piece hulls.

  • Unmatched Durability: The boats are highly resistant to impact, UV rays, and corrosion, ensuring longevity and low maintenance.

  • Eco-Conscious Manufacturing: The process is energy-efficient, produces minimal waste, and the boats themselves are designed to be recyclable, aligning with modern environmental values.

Strategic Partnerships and Global Growth

The feature also shines a light on SeaStorm’s global expansion. Our boats are now sold in more than 40 countries, serving both recreational users and professionals.

A major milestone mentioned in the article is the strategic collaboration with Mercury Marine, established in January 2025. By pairing the high-performance HDPE hulls designed by the Mannerfelt Design Team with industry-leading propulsion from Mercury, SeaStorm offers a superior driving experience that prioritizes efficiency without sacrificing fun.

A Commitment to the Future

In her acceptance speech, Aljona Ystmark noted:

“Receiving this award represents an important recognition of our commitment to innovation, excellence in design, and sustainability… It validates our efforts to create boats that function reliably in real conditions while maintaining respectful production for the environment.”

With plans to launch at least one new model every year, this award is just the beginning.

Thank you to our partners, dealers, and customers for being part of this sustainable journey!
